CLI – Need of Importers

Buyers do not want suppliers just to produce the order according to required features, but also to transport the order in accurate quantity and quality within time. To maintain the trust of buyers in suppliers, quality inspection is done and shipping container inspection is one of the quality inspection services.

In the container, inspection is done at the time of loading the ordered products in the containers to ship them to the buyers. The container loading inspection is done to avoid any uncertainty in the form of damaged products, less or more quantity of products and poor quality products that could during loading, transporting and unloading the products in the shipment containers. Nowadays, systematic shipping container inspection services are available that let the suppliers save their manufactured products from damages while reaching to the customer as this helps them to meet buyer requirements. The shipping containers when properly inspected are then not forbidden to enter the border by the customs inspectors.

Right Time to conduct CLI

Container loading inspection is done while loading the ordered products in the containers within the factory in front of the suppliers or the vendors who are going to supply the products to the buyers. It is wise to judge the quality and condition of goods before packing them fully to the containers and then randomly checking the boxes to verify the condition of goods. Therefore containers are inspected for their better condition before loading the goods into them, quality of packing material is checked to ensure goods will not be damaged in packing during shipment, the right way of loading and placing the packages is guaranteed to keep goods safe.

Moreover, all the documentation is also analyzed by the inspection team where it is confirmed that product handling information is mentioned on the packages and containers, quantity and quality of products is mentioned on the containers and all safety measures are also printed on the packages to avoid any injury to the labor or damage to the products. The legal documents are also double checked by quality assuring inspectors and copy of these documents is dispatched with the shipment so that buyer can read and acknowledge the order formally.

Expectation from CLI

CLI is appreciable in many ways like,

  • Container loading inspection makes buyers more satisfied because they are sure their products will be loaded and shipped in right way
  • It is also good to go for CLI when the final product is manufactured by different suppliers in parts and shipped altogether so that it can be verified every supplier provided right quantity of product parts in the appropriate condition
  • If the packing or carton in which products are packed is going to be the final packing for retail usage from buyer then it is must have a container inspection to make sure the packing will not be damaged after shipment
  • CLI makes buyers trust supplier if the supplier is new in market or buyers are going to have their first experience with that supplier

Conclusion

CLI is a healthy and formal way to make sure buyer will get the right order from the supplier. The limitation this inspection has is if products get damaged after the inspection and during the transportation then no substitute is offered to deal with that damaged product(s) except that buyer has to cancel the whole order or to ask the replacement product again. This can cause buyer a serious loss of money and time in some sensitive cases. Therefore, some additional task must be added in CLI functions to deal with this uncertainty as well.

Overall CLI is an intelligent approach to go for as it saves a lot of money, time, resources and respect from bad experiences that can be caused by minor carelessness. This is part of product quality inspection and is necessary to be performed so that buyers can assure safety and quantity of their ordered products during and after transportation.
